What and How Children Learn:
Preschool (Birth-Pre Kindergarten)
When teaching preschool children, we strive to achieve the following goals by helping each child:
- Associate God, Jesus, and the Bible with happy feelings.
- To make progress in solving problems, sharing, and expressing himself.
- To know that the Bible is a special book that tells about God and Jesus.
- To think of church as my church – the happy place.
- To think of home as a place of love and security.
- To begin thinking of others and adjusting to their interests.
These objectives and concepts are taught through the use of activity areas (creative art, blocks, books and pictures, dramatic play, natural world, and puzzles) and through Bible stories, songs, Bible phrases, verses and prayer.
Children (Grades K-6)
We choose to use curriculum from Lifeway during our Sunday Morning teaching times. However, at other times, we will use material from other reputable sources such as Gospel Light, Standard Publishing, and Group Publishing.
Children have the opportunity to experience a complete learning program as they participate in: Sunday School (Bible Study), Children’s Church (worship), Mission Projects/Studies (ministry), Mission Kids (discipleship) and special events (fellowship).
