Children's Ministry

Northview provides children (Birth to 6th grade) a safe, positive, Christian environment that establishes a solid foundation for Biblical principles and presents them with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is our desire that every child comes to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord. It is also our goal to provide them with a Christian world-view that will enable them to live in a secular world as godly young girls and boys. In addition, it is also the desire of the children’s ministry to partner with parents in providing resources and learning opportunities to help equip families to raise their children in a godly manner.

You will find each critical development level of our children is very important to our staff and volunteers. We tailor our learning and worship time specifically to meet and challenge those developmental needs showing God’s love every step of the way.

Meet Our Children's Director

Hi I’m Heather Shannon, Preschool and Children’s Ministry Director at Northview. Let me tell you, we have a blast learning about Jesus. We offer, Sunday School, Kid’s Church, Praise Kids Choir, Mission Kids and so much more. We are all about fun and faith and have a great group of teachers and volunteers helping our children learn. Children K-6

We recognize that early elementary children are developing at a fast pace in their views and problem solving abilities. Through on-going classes, special events and mission projects, we teach them how to handle the world they live in through biblical principles. For many at this age, they begin their journey as a Christ-follower through their personal profession of faith. This is a critical age for children in their spiritual formations. Our children’s ministry desires to equip them and their parents as they journey through these years.

We also recognize that K-6 is a wide range of development. Because of this, many of our programs will be directed, K-3rd Grades (young elementary) and 4-6th Grades (preteen).

Weekly Schedule

Sunday

9:00 AM – Bible Study K-6th Grades in the Kids Loft
10:30 AM – Kid’s Worship for K-6th Grades in the Upper Room
(5th and 6th Grades attend Worship in The Sanctuary as a group with their teacher)

Wedneday

6:00-7:00 PM – Praise Kids Choir for K- 6th Grades (during school year)
7:00-8:00 PM - Mission Kids for K- 6th Grades in the Kids Loft

Children's Worship & Bible Study

Sundays, 9AM–11:45AM

Sunday morning in The Kid’s Loft we have a time of worship just for our kids K-6 Grades. We have high energy music, movement and fun with a message. We do skits, study the Bible all led by our devoted volunteer adult leaders under the direction of Heather Shannon. The children are split by age for Bible Study and come together for worship in the Upper Room. Come in and join us on a Sunday and see the energy and message our kids leave with. In the Kids Loft

Praise Kids Choir

Wednesdays at 6:00 PM

We love to share the gifts our children have through music, dance, speaking, acting and even technology skills. Yearly, we work towards a Christmas and Spring musical presentation, as well as learning to lead out in worship on Sundays and out in our community.

In the Kids Loft

Mission kids

Wednesdays at 7:00 PM

Mission Kids helps our kids learn what is means to be on mission as a disciple of Christ daily.

Join us on Wednesdays as we learn about spiritual gifts, how God equips us and how we can put the Great Commission into action. Throughout the year, all ages will be doing activities and mission projects to be the hands and feet of Christ to others. Our 4th – 6th grade kids will also be working towards a Mission Trip.

Seasonal and Special

events

Vacation Bible School, Mission Trips, Praise Kids outings, Summer Camps (Pre-Teen and Mini Camp), Summer Music Camp,and Weekend Retreats. We also host a Father Daughter Dance, Mom and Son Events, Annual Family Gingerbread Build and so much more to connect families as they model and walk with their children through their spiritual growth.
